Job description
The RoleAs Treasury Accounting Accountant, you will play an integral role with our treasury accounting process. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, researching, and validating all cash transactions, followed by month end close and financial reporting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills that will ensure accuracy and compliance.This position includes a unique hybrid schedule. It allows for a balance between in-person collaboration from the office 3 days a week, and the convenience of working from your preferred location twice a week. This position will report out of our Seattle or Toronto locations.Responsibilities
- Reconcile cash transactions and bank statements for multiple corporate cash accounts
- Monitor reconciliation activities performed by a center of excellence
- Research and resolve reconciling items related to cash
- Collaborate with different departments of the business to ensure proper recording of cash related transactions and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Prepare journal entries and month-end account reconciliations for cash and investments
- Monitor and analyze cashflow reporting
- Provide insightful financial analysis, including explanations of variances between actual and prior period results.
- Recommend process improvements to streamline the cash process.
- Ensure continued compliance with internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”) requirements and assist with the identification of process/control/automation enhancements.
- Facilitate and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Understanding of US GAAP and the ability to apply them to business transactions.
- Strong organizational, attention to detail and documentation skills, particularly to help with compliance with section 404 of the SOX.
- Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with varying levels of management and professional staff.
- Progressive thinking skills, a strong work ethic, and an aptitude for innovative solutions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and assume additional responsibilities over time.
- Effectively handle change, identify, and implement process improvements, and problem solve when faced with ambiguity.
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus, including Oracle, FCCS, Workiva, Asana, Blackline and Tableau.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
