The Staff Accountant I is responsible for general accounting functions related to the monthly accounting cycle, which may include revenue and accounts receivable, fixed assets, liabilities or other general accounting topics.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly journal entries, analysis and account reconciliations to accurately close the monthly fiscal period
- Maintains multiple general ledgers; prepares monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances
- Participates in the development of and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Ensures compliance by confirming processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
- Maintains confidentiality ensuring that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
- Assists business unit management, with financial information requests
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of one (1) year of Accounting or related experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Understanding of ledger accounts preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software or sub-ledger preferred
- Experience with Yardi Voyager a plus
In the states of Colorado, California, Illinois and Washington, the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $23.08 to $31.10. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and a tuition reimbursement program. The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year, and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.
