You will interact with a team of passionate cloud engineers who thrive on solving challenging technical problems and creating great products that delight customers.If this is the type of challenge that you’re passionate about, then we would like to talk to you!What will you do?Build enterprise platforms in Azure for the greater bank to support modern development techniques and architecturesLeverage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes to build multicloud, multitenant platformsDeliver capabilities by developing practices such as Kubernetes Operators, Infrastructure as Code and GitOpsLearn from a great team of fellow engineers in building real-world cloud scale solutions across public and private cloudsLead a team of like-minded platform engineers to build the cloud platforms as part of the RBC hybrid cloud strategyPromote automation and infrastructure best practicesFearlessly face challenging technical problems, use your superpowers to solve them, and help your peers by sharing your unique solutionsCreate awesome educational material for fellow engineers, like sample cloud native apps and starter codeContinuously learn new technical skills and practice by applying them in your day-to-day workEXECUTION AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCELeads the engineering, design and integration of the current and future Azure Kuberneres (AKS), technologies and toolsDevelops criteria for and participates in the evaluation of third party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.Design and implementation of highly available, scalable and resilient applications both for cloud native and non-cloud technologies stackDevelops detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, and implementation and stabilization phases of the project.Manages all aspects of testing and verification ensuring all tasks are performed for all interfaces.Responsible for defining, planning and executing high level team activities, such as recommendations for architecture and process improvementsRecommends strategies to drive down cost and improve efficiencies with supported vendor software and written code to ensure optimal use of available resources.Provides direction to support staff in conducting performance tuning and capacity planning activities within the Cloud Infrastructure platform.Must-have4+ years’ experience in design and engineering solutions with Azure infrastructure and KubernetesExperience with developing Kubernetes extended features like operators and Go ProgrammingExperience in designing and implementing advanced CI/CD pipelines with Github Action and JenkinsExperience with Azure and Kubernetes Security best practicesCommunication skills necessary to work on a geographically distributed team.Nice-to-haveExperience developing softwareExperience working with Java Spring Boot, Git and JenkinsExperience working in a SAFe, Kanban, or Scrum development methodologyExperience with Helm, Flux and ArgoCDRBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
