Are you positive, creative and dynamic?If you do then the Surgical Directorate is currently looking for Staff Nurses for an exciting post on Ward 16Our focus is on providing safe and exceptionally skilled surgical care to our patients. We are undergoing a period of change and we will be focusing heavily on training, education, staff support and development; alongside collaborative working with our Consultants and other professionals. - NMC Registered Nurse (Adult)
- Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Health Nursing Studies
- Surgical Nursing experience (minimum12 months)
Desirable
- Post Registration Course related to surgical patient or high acuity care patient
ExperienceEssential
- Experience of caring for patients with acute and long term conditions in an acute setting
- Two years post qualification experience
Desirable
- Acute surgical experience
- Management skills at Band 5 level in an acute setting
- End of life care
Technical Skills CompetenciesEssential
- Basic IT skills
- Demonstrable ability with vital signs monitoring equipment and ability to recognise the deteriorating patient
- Demonstrates high standards in written communication
- Non-IV and IV medication administration including administration of blood products in accordance to the NMC Standards for Medicines Management
- Able to check charts or calculate drug dosages for infusions requiring frequent concentration
- Teaching skills, supervision and development of others

- Venepuncture and Cannulation
- Pain assessment
- Nasogastric Tubes
- CVAD
