Join us as a Staff SDET

  • This key, back-end focused role will see you helping to define and implement the testing strategy, principles, and practices across our products
  • You’ll work alongside customer focused agile squads and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define the next iteration of NatWest Boxed
  • It’s an opportunity to work with technology leadership to drive the direction of our testing chapter to ensure it maintains the highest standard of technology and process

What you’ll doThis is an exciting opportunity to join in a technical leadership role, working directly with clients and teams across the business to define and implement testing strategies, principles, and practices that deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive the growth of our company.You’ll also be:

  • Developing clean, elegant, and reusable code that is easy to maintain and extend
  • Design and implement scalable automated testing systems that enable us to deliver value to customers rapidly and reliably
  • Work across our technology missions to develop intelligent testing approaches, leveraging automation and cutting-edge testing solutions
  • Support fellow engineers in testing their software, acting as the go-to expert in testing best practices.

The skills you’ll needWe’re looking for someone with excellent programming skills in a modern programming language. You’ll have hands on experience with Java, back-end test automation frameworks and integrating these into the continuous deployment pipeline.On top of this, you’ll bring:

  • Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills: You will work closely with client stakeholders to align on testing and quality strategies, ensuring seamless collaboration with NatWest Boxed
  • A strong understanding of various testing methodologies, including automated test frameworks, mocking, stubbing, and modern testing tools
  • Specialist knowledge in performance and security testing: Practical experience in software performance testing, automated security testing techniques, and associated tooling
  • Proven ability to lead Quality Engineers, guiding them to define and achieve shared goals
