Permanent, Part-Time 17.5 hours per weekAbout the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores Assistant within the School of Film and Television. Reporting to the Stores Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to provide support to students who are seeking to hire equipment. More widely, they will support the safe and appropriate storage of technical equipment, provide accurate and timely data input into the SISO booking system and also ensure that the technical stores area is kept tidy and well maintained. You will be required to provide demonstrations to students, teaching staff and external customers.Health & Safety is a key focus and as such you will be required to adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times. Also, when appropriate, the role holder may be required to advise and guide all users of our service to ensure their compliance in relation to these policies.You will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the stores team; a flexible approach is a must as you will be required to cover work colleagues during busy periods or absences. On occasion, this may mean working additional or varied working hours.About YouThe successful candidate will have experience of working within a technical / stores environment and possess a flair for maintaining and repairing technical equipment. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, to ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard, and that all processes and procedures are adhered to. Customer focused, you will possess excellent communication skills, key to this role is the ability to engage with students and IT literacy.We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- An up to date knowledge of a wide range of technical equipment used within the technical area of the School.
- An understanding of good customer service.
- The ability to engage with students.
- Ability to work under own initiative and within a team, developing and maintaining good working
