About the Position
The Strategic Communications Analyst will support communication tasks and activities that promote information sharing, decision support, dialogue, and learning about Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation (AM&E) within the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The Strategic Communications Analyst will work collaboratively as part of a diverse, global team on communications and outreach tasks.
Responsibilities
- Developing tailored communications products (e.g., memos, talking points, presentations) for team members, senior leaders, and stakeholders
- Overseeing communication plans and outreach activities
- Providing advice on communications and outreach for events, strategies, and projects
- Co-creating and implementing outreach campaigns to educate, socialize, and build buy-in on key issues and ideas (e.g., developing change roadmaps, stakeholder assessments, training plans, and resistance management plans)
- Conceptualizing and developing engaging visuals (e.g., infographics, charts, rich pictures, video clips) to support outreach efforts
- Ensuring all communication materials have consistent messaging
- Utilizing insights generated from feedback, reports, and conversations to update or archive messaging materials
- Supporting knowledge management efforts
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience (3 in a government setting) in assessing external communication needs and executing daily tasks of communicating externally, identifying potential problems and risks, working with subject matter experts to keep collateral up to date and accessible, and communicating the status of external communications strategy and implementation
- 3 year of experience in Security Cooperation or international programs or projects in the security sector for a national organization, an NGO/IGO, the UN, or private industry
- 1-2 years of data visualization experience
- Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of experience (3 in a government setting) in assessing external communication needs and executing daily tasks of communicating externally, identifying potential problems and risks, working with subject matter experts to keep collateral up to date and accessible, and communicating the status of external communications strategy and implementation
- 5 years of experience in Security Cooperation or international programs or projects in the security sector for a national organization, an NGO/IGO, the UN, or private industry
- 1 year of experience with congressional liaising or reporting, audit liaising, front office speech writing, or government agency use of social media applications
- A master’s degree or higher in the field of business administration, communications, public affairs, or public relations
