This role will focus on the execution of end-to-end sourcing activities including the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy.We are open to this person sitting anywhere in North America, but you must be able to report to an Orica office three days a week.What you will be doing
- Supplier Selection: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on their capabilities, financial stability, and alignment with company values and objectives.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, quality of goods/services, and compliance with contract terms.
- Supplier Development: Work with suppliers to improve their performance and capabilities through training, feedback, and collaborative initiatives.
- Supplier Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with suppliers, such as financial instability or geopolitical issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and sustainability practices.
- Supplier Innovation: Encourage and collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation and continuous improvement in products, services, and processes.
- Supplier Diversity: Promote and support supplier diversity initiatives to ensure a broad and inclusive supplier base.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively to maintain strong working relationships.
- Supplier Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication channels with suppliers to ensure alignment and mutual understanding of expectations and goals.
- Supplier Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment with suppliers to achieve shared objectives and drive mutual growth and success.
- Sourcing Strategy Development: Evaluates the effectiveness of developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and drive cost savings.
What you will bring
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management and/or Business-related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in sourcing
- Experience using SAP in a sourcing capacity is required
- Experience working in Ariba is helpful
- Solid experience managing a diverse range of categories such as IT, marketing, professional services, and facilities management.
- Proficient at developing and executing strategic sourcing plans that drive cost savings, enhance supplier performance, and mitigate risks.
- Solid experience with supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and market analysis
- Ability to ensure all sourcing activities align with organizational goals and deliver maximum value.
- Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives would be desirable.
- Demonstrated skills associated with building strong vendor &/or customer relationships
Role dimensions
- TRAVEL -This position will require you to travel up to 25% of the time in the US, Canada and Mexico.
- WORK SCHEDULE – This position will require you to report to an Orica office at least three days a week.
