RSK Group

Job description

RSK Land Development and Engineering Ltd (LDE), part of the RSK Group of companies, provides a complete engineering design service for residential and commercial developer clients over a diverse range of projects. LDE, formed in 2003, now employs over seventy engineering staff with many years experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.

The team typically evaluate land use constraints in support of the site acquisition and planning process, followed by the production of working drawings for the civil and structural engineering design for schemes that can vary from low-rise units to inner city regeneration sites, including basements and multi-storey construction of reinforced concrete or structural steel.

LDE is now looking for a Structural Engineer to join the structural engineering design team in Wigan.

Comprising twenty staff, from Director to Graduate Engineer level, you will be joining a vibrant team that operates in the fast-paced environment of the construction industry.

Do you have what it takes to succeed as a professional design consultant with us?

You must have strong analytical skills and bring an organised and accurate approach to the design work that you will be responsible for. It is also essential that you are comfortable working in a team environment where communication, both within the business and with external stake holders, is absolutely key to our success.

You will be encouraged and supported to fulfil your potential; if you flourish under pressure you will benefit from rapid progression within the team. We believe that if you have the skills, we will give you the responsibility and the rewards. Financial and resource management experience, as well as previous exposure to the residential development sector would be a benefit but is not essential. The successful candidate will also be chartered or working towards their professional qualification.

Whilst your work in the structural design team is by its nature predominantly office based, we will commit to enabling you to visit our live construction sites as often as possible where you will be able to witness your design work taking shape in the real world. You will also attend team meetings and workshops where you will benefit from time spent face to face with clients, architects and other consultants that you will be working closely with on our variety of interesting design projects.

Salary and benefits:

  • £30,000 – £40,000, depending on experience
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • A flexible benefits programme, including the option to buy additional holidays, childcare vouchers and private health care
  • Regular training and career development
  • Access to mental health support
  • Professional financial advice
  • Discounted gym memberships
