Job description
Primary duties
o Planning and execution of facility structural and mechanical projects.
o Authoring and execution of structural statement of work (SOW) for both SLC-41 & SLC-37
o Support and supervision of structural contractor personnel
o Authoring supplemental statements of work, field change orders, work orders or purchase requests as required
o Review of ULA’s structural methods and materials to ensure best practices are being followed
o Review of projects to ensure best structural & mechanical practices are being used.
o Perform checking and administrative functions for release of drawings, procedures, SOWs and change orders
o Verbal and written presentations on the facility’s structural projects status
o Interfacing with contract issuing personnel to release contracts for work.Basic Qualifications
o Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Structural, or Materials engineering; willing to consider other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree with additional levels of industry field experience
o 6+ years of relevant experience
o Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
o Experience writing statements of work and leading projects
o Ability to effectively coordinate work with internal ULA teammates and external contractorsPreferred Qualifications
o Facility repair, maintenance, and fabrication experience
o Structural Engineering Experience
o Construction Management experience
o Experience managing/supervising a working crew
o Experience writing/performing preventative maintenance procedures
o General working knowledge of electrical power equipment
o Proficient with AutoCAD 2D
o Proficient with Microsoft Project
o Structural analysis experience
o Hydraulics experience
o General knowledge of federal safety regulations
o Willingness to support launch campaigns
o Ability to work under pressure in time oriented and stressful condition
