About the team

The University of Salford is committed to ensuring that all students, irrespective of their diverse backgrounds, can integrate into all aspects of university life and access the help available at the university to ensure their academic success, whilst recognising the holistic need to support growth in their personal and social lives.

The Directorate of Student Success and Academic Support Services (DSSASS) unites The Library, Student Administration and Student Experience and Support and is responsible for a broad range of student facing services and activity. DSSASS aims to provide agile and adaptive services to support enhancement of student experience and performance throughout the student journey and staff experience across the academic cycle.

Working closely with colleagues from across the University and external partners, Student Experience and Support deliver integrated, coordinated activity and support which empowers, supports, and encourages students from all backgrounds to maximise their time at university and realise their full potential.

What will the role involve

This is a key role within the centralised administration of our specialist student support services. The Student Support Administrator will work with members of the Campus and Student Life and Student Support teams on a daily basis.

In collaboration with managers and colleagues, you will be required to collate information and data to enable the continuous evaluation and enhancement of services. You will also be required to provide administrative support to the wider directorate support team as guided by the Directorate Operations Manager.

What are we looking for

To meet the challenges of this role, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative with excellent interpersonal skills, possess the ability to work autonomously and be an integral member of the Directorate Support Team. You will be expected to deal with, at times, emotive and often sensitive situations.

A key requirement of the role is to provide efficient, effective, and professional administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, which will include diary management, meeting support, and dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

You will also be required to provide dedicated administrative support for complex case management and incident support, which will involve supporting meetings by taking notes and actions, ensuring these are clearly documented and actions are tracked and followed up.
