Role
This is an exciting role for students studying at the University of Salford. We are looking for students to conduct a student-led curriculum audit exploring how modules embed or progress the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other sustainability criteria.
Salford Business School is committed to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), for which progress is reported on biennially. The findings will be used to better understand how the curriculum at Salford Business School is supporting students to help shape more sustainable societies and what can be improved to ensure all students are supported to develop sustainability skills, knowledge and competencies.
Auditors will receive training and then work independently to audit a number of modules at the school against a set of sustainability criteria
Duties and responsibilities
- Support the Salford Business School to embed sustainability across the formal curriculum by working independently to audit a number of modules at the School against a set of sustainability criteria.
- Attend a 3-hour training (paid) exploring the role of education in progressing sustainability and how to audit modules against sustainability criteria and the UN SDGs..
- Read through module specifications and assess how the module may embed the SDGs or progress sustainability based on the details provided on the descriptor. These details may include: module overview, learning aims/outcomes, assessment types and reading lists.
- Work independently to assess modules over the course of 4 weeks, completing assigned modules before 8 March 2024.

- Strong critical thinking skills – Essential

- Creative and innovative problem solving -skills – Desirable
Desirable Knowledge:
- Understanding of the climate emergency and ecological crises
- Understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- Understanding of the role in education in progressing sustainability

An advocate for sustainability within the University community and beyond- Desirable
