You are a respected pharmacy leader internally and externally for the company. You build constructive relationships with pharmacy stakeholders. Internally you ensure an ethos of health & professionalism permeate our pharmacy business and ensure we have competent knowledgeable pharmacists and pharmacy teams. You ensure that there is clear delegation, accountability and escalation processes in place for patient safety and pharmacy governance. You ensure the patient is at the centre of all decisions and that we are compliant with all legislation, code of conducts and guidance for pharmacy and protect our brand. As Super Intendent, you will ensure your team meet the specific statutory responsibilities. You control the management and administration of pharmacy services and the sale and supply of medicines from the pharmacy/pharmacies, and you have overall control of the professional and clinical policy management. These statutory responsibilities are outlined within four key Principles in the PSI guidance on Pharmacy Governance RolesCore Responsibilities:Governance & Compliance:
- Maintain oversight of pharmacy systems to ensure they are safe, compliant, and patient-centric.
- Supervise pharmacy services, including the sale and supply of medicines.
- Provide guidance on professional and clinical policy management.
- Meet statutory responsibilities per the PSI guidance across the four principles:
- Safe Systems: Patient-focused and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership: Accountability and effective delegation.
- Risk Management: Promote continuous improvement.
- Competent Teams: Build teams that act with honesty and integrity.
Financial:
- Supporting Territory managers in achieving targets and creation of dispensary growth plans
- Working with the Operations team to seek and implement operational efficiencies
- Work with Claims team to minimise rejects and unclaimable items
- Supports day-to-day operations, including stock management, workflow optimization, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient and consistent service across all retail locations.
People:
- Support the Director of Pharmacy in the development and implementation of new initiatives
- Assist the Operations team with performance management issues.
- Work collaboratively with Departments on the training and development of dispensary teams
Stakeholder Management:
- Foster productive relationships with pharmacy stakeholders.
- Represent Uniphar professionally in external engagements.
- Work with internal and external teams to develop a culture of patient focused care
- Promote safe and reliable use of medicines
- Providing Marketing and e-commerce support to include content
Continuous Improvement:
- Champion a culture of risk management and innovation, guiding the company towards the “Pharmacy of the Future.”
- Influence and advise the senior management team on pharmacy-related matters.

Key Skills & Experiences
- Pharmacy degree and post grad and at least 6 years post registration experience.
- A minimum of 4 years working in Super Intendent Role or Department essential
- Managing multi-site is essential.
- Proven ability to inspire and lead teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- A pragmatic problem-solver with the ability to prioritize key objectives.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with effective delegation.
- Ability to manage complexity and focus on key priorities.
- Ability to build strong relationships with the pharmacy team and other stakeholders
- Alignment with Uniphars values and culture.
How we’d like to work togetherDue to the expected key outcomes associated with this role by its nature it will be a role based out of our Support Office in Citywest, Dublin. There will be an element of hybrid working available, but this role will also involve travel to our pharmacy sites across Ireland. It is important to note that we do not expect this job to be a ‘9 to 5’ type position.
