POST TITLE: Supply Teacher Salary: Daily rate based on salary assessment
SUBJECTS REQUIRED: English, Mathematics, Sciences to GCSE and above
RESPONSIBLE TO: Deputy Head Teacher

Ancora House School is a specialist alternative provision and provides education to children and young people who cannot attend their origin school because of their physical or mental health needs.
The school was recently judged ‘Outstanding’ for the fourth consecutive time, and delivers an holistic and person centred curriculum tailored to the needs of it cohort.
The school has two sites, the hospital provision is based at the Countess of Chester Health Park and the community provision is based at Castle Park, Frodsham.
Due to the nature of our school, student numbers fluctuate, the vast majority remain on the roll of their origin school and attend our service for a fixed period of time for the duration of their ill health.
A small number of students have Education Health Care plans for social, emotional and mental health and we are named as their sole provider.
The team at Ancora are highly skilled at working with children and young people who may have experienced trauma, we work closely with our colleagues in health to secure the best outcomes our young people.
The school fully subscribes the principles of ‘Our Ways of Working’.
Location:
The role could be based at either of the school’s sites; one on the Countess of Chester Health Park, the other at Castle Park, Frodsham. For a small number of students, teaching may initially take place in the home.
Job Purpose:
To effectively teach designated students and to undertake associated pastoral and general teaching duties in order to provide high quality and continuity of education. Teaching and learning typically takes place in very small groups or one to one. The school supports students across the ability range.
Safeguarding
Understand your responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding and child protection and how to highlight any issue or raise any concerns.
Remain vigilant to ensure all students are protected from potential harm by following safeguarding and child protection policies and protocols reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Key Duties
- Contribute to the provision of a safe, secure learning environment.
- To ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support.
- To work as a member of the school team and to contribute positively to effective working relations within the school.
- Supply appropriate planning materials, following school plans where provided.
- Implement and maintain the Positive Relationships and Behaviour Policy of the school.
- To take part in staff development programme by participating in training and professional development.
- To maintain appropriate records and to provide relevant accurate and up-to-date information e.g. registers, data systems.
- To continue personal development in relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.
- Carry out the duties of the ‘regular’ teacher i.e. covering form groups, taking class registers, contribute to delivery of PHSE.
- To contribute to the process of monitoring and evaluation in line with agreed school procedures, including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria.
- To complete the relevant documentation to assist in the tracking of students.
Data Protection
- Work within the requirements of Data Protection legislation at all times ensuring student data is kept safe.
- Report any potential or actual data breaches to the person responsible for data protection in school.
Additional conditions
- Create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with staff, parents, community, and all stakeholders.
- The post-holder will be expected to undertake any appropriate training provided by the school to assist them in carrying out any of the above duties.

- To promote the vision and aims of the school.
- To set an example of personal integrity and professionalism as outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct.
- To attend meetings, training days and CPD sessions where required.
- To be an effective team player and support the functions of the Ancora House School.

- Observance of complete confidentiality on all school information is required and any failure so to do may be regarded as gross misconduct in terms of the Disciplinary Policy.
