Details:Mission and objectives:UNDSS is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system with the strategic aim of enabling the safest and most efficient conduct of mandated programmes and activities of the UN system worldwide.Context:This year marks the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). To commemorate this significant milestone, we are focusing on envisioning the future of UNDSS over the next two decades. As part of this initiative, we will be launching a podcast series and conducting a survey that delves into the evolving landscape of UN security and UNDSS’s role in it.
To connect with a diverse range of voices, we are building a comprehensive database of individuals and organizations to engage through the survey and podcast. Our target groups include stakeholders from academia, UN entities, governments, NGOs, INGOs, the private sector, and educational institutions.
This project is being led by the Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) within the Strategic Planning Service (SPS) under the Office of the Under Secretary-General (OUSG) of the Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).Task type:Data processingTask description:We are requesting support from online volunteers to prepare a database with the list of people to contact for the survey and podcast, to ensure it reaches people from the different audiences and criteria identified.The responsibilities will include the following tasks:

  • Compile a comprehensive database with the entities to contact.
  • Include the contact information of all the entities.
  • Support creating the survey/digital data collection tool.
  • Ensure surveys questionnaires are completed and submitted on time.
  • Provide assistance in analyzing survey results to identify key trends and insights.
  • Share report of completion in numbers to SPU/SPS/OUSG/UNDSS.

Requirements:Candidates should have in-depth understanding of concept of data collection and experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative data collection. An advanced degree in the area of data to be collected is considered an advantage. Professional level of verbal and written English is required.Work Hours: 16-20
