During this period City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realising its vision of being a leading global university.The culture at City is built on our shared core values, which means that all employees are expected to behave according to our values: “We care, We learn, We act.”BackgroundThe Sustainability team is responsible for the direction, management and improvement of institutional sustainability, including environmental monitoring and compliance across four workstreams: Education, Research, Operations and Engagement.As part of the Property and Facilities department, the team collaborate with colleagues across Professional Services and the Schools to embed sustainability across all of the University’s activities. The team works across all areas of environmental and social sustainability, using the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development as a framework.ResponsibilitiesThe appointee will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting delivery against new objectives to be launched during 2024, in cooperation with colleagues in the Sustainability Team and across the University.The role reports into the Director of Property and Facilities Department and is accountable to the Chair of The Sustainability Board.
