Are you passionate about sustainability practices and keen on making a strong impact? In this role, you will be the primary person of contact for all Sustainability topics from a marketing & communications standpoint, whether linked to environmental or social matters. You will develop and implement sustainability strategies that reduce environmental impact, develop positive support to local communities and promote responsible decision-making within the organization. You will have an active role in positioning the organization as a leader in sustainability, improving brand reputation, and driving long-term business success!A day in the Life of a Sustainability Specialist:
- Recommend and lead execution of Sustainability Programs, Initiatives and Campaigns
- Design strategies and plans to amplify company’s sustainability commitments to end-consumers
- Lead execution of Sustainability Marketing and Communication projects
- Lead Sustainability Strategic Partnerships
- Provide and facilitate mentorship and training to ensure the exchange of environmental-related information among collaborators, encouraging a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.
- Lead and run sustainability projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed project objectives
- Be the guardian of Sustainability practices and compliance to regulations
- Monitor company’s progress through thorough performance measurement
- Budget Management
Role Requirements
- Bilingualism in English and French is required for this position. The role involves frequent and complex collaboration with collaborators across the Canadian market and/or internationally. These interactions necessitate a high level of proficiency in English to effectively perform the tasks associated with the job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
- Solid understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Strong project management skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Professional certification in sustainability or environmental management.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing marketing and communication projects related to sustainability
