This position works with the Ellucian Banner Student Information System as well as other enterprise level and software systems such as workflow, USG ITS implementations, and D2L integrations. This position involves developing documentation for Enterprise Applications processes and standard practices. This position will focus on project implementations related to Ellucian Banner and other in house developed enterprise applications. The technical expertise will provide information and services in multiple platforms for access through computers and other devices. It also includes mapping data from enterprise systems to third party vendor systems to aid the Georgia College & State University Information Technology staff. This position provides assistance to the Applications Systems Analysts, Database Architects, and Enterprise Architect Specialist. Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Banner Support Specialist will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining procedures, scripts, and functions for Banner and related information systems. Additionally, the Banner Support Specialist provides functional users with training, integration, troubleshooting, and reporting for these systems. The person chosen for this position will work closely with all members of the GCSU community.


Reporting – 35
Develop enterprise applications software and reports to aid the GCSU faculty, staff and administration in the management of student record and information reporting.
Data Management – 25
Develop, modify, and implement software to provide solutions for functional users as well as respond to user requests for various adhoc queries.
Software Development – 15
Application Development: Responsible for the development of new software applications and programs in different programming languages including PLSQL programming, Python, and Linux/Unix scripts development.
Trouble Resolution – 10
Work with users to resolve work orders (trouble tickets) received through the Serve Help Desk.
Information Management – 5
Provide information and services in multiple platforms for access through computer and other devices.
Project Management – 5
Perform additional duties as assigned to assist other members of Enterprise Application with project implementations.
Other Duties – 5
Performs other duties as assigned: Examples include: Documentation of new programs/applications; maintenance/ administration of the following systems: Banner including Web Tailor and DegreeWorks.


Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years work experience in a related field
Required Experience
At least 3 years of experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

ABILITIES
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise. Must be able to effectively communication with technical staff and non-technical staff and end users.
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of both the logical and physical structure and hierarchy of oracles relational database. Working knowledge of data, integrity, data relationships, data replication, backup and recovery; working knowledge of oracle system optimization and performance; excellent skill level in editing, shell scripting and use of cron utility.
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
