As a Systems Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Systems Operator will support the Service Delivery team within the Infrastructure Operations area, which is a key workstream within Skynet, supporting the delivery of the Skynet Service Delivery Wrap ProgrammeDay-to-day, you’ll assist with preventative maintenance tasks on the equipment within the ground station, as well as:

  • Assist with scheduled Operational and Network Support tasks.
  • Assist with the monitoring and investigation of faults on the systems employed at the satellite ground station.
  • Undertake fault monitoring and rectification activities, maintaining records and reports of work completed.
  • Assist with installation / modification work.
  • Routine administration and daily check tasks

This role is full time and based onsite at Colerne.Essential experience of the Systems Operator:

  • Knowledge of a Physics or General Science subject, with a keen interest in technology and electronics
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a close-knit team.
  • Capable of manipulating and understanding spreadsheets, databases, and applications

Qualifications for the Systems Operator:

  • GCSE or Equivalent to Grade C or above in Maths and English and a Science based subject
