Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Sourcer develops sourcing and recruiting strategies to effectively recruit qualified applicants for positions at Stony Brook Medicine.
 
The incumbent is responsible for screening, interviewing, and recommending applicants based on position requirements and working within the contractual language of various collective bargaining agreements as it relates to the promotion, transfer, demotion and other staffing/recruiting related issues.  The incumbent works with labor relations resolve any issues related to promotion, transfer, demotion and other staffing/recruiting related matters.  

  Duties of a Talent Acquisition Sourcer may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Build targeted sourcing plans and strategies in order to identify appropriate skill sets to meet current and future resource demands.
  • Research and identify candidates through the use of innovative search methods that include cold-calling, networking, deep internet sourcing and mining.
  • Build talent pipelines to source candidates through direct channels, social media, internet sourcing, email, blogs and networking events, talent mapping and relationship building.
  • Provide real-time market intel to Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Team on intake meetings and calibrate candidates with hiring managers.
  • Develop prospects into candidates. Engage and fully screen candidates.
  • Continually contribute to the knowledge base of the Talent Acquisition team sharing new information about industries, talent pools, and/or profile types.
  • Source candidates via local community outreach, networking and attending job fairs.
  • Solicit and pursue referrals from professional associations and internal referrals from SBUH employees.
  • Promote SBUH’s commitment to diversity and inclusion when networking with community organizations, professional associations, educational institutions, and attending various events.
  • Implement Talent Acquisition strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse candidates.
  • Effectively create and manage a positive pre-candidate experience for every applicant.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal aspects of recruiting and candidate selection including applicable federal and state recruitment regulations including OFCCP and EEOC.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years related experience.
  • Previous experience using LinkedIn recruiter and tools.
  • Experience in sourcing for a variety of roles.
  • Prior experience in a research capacity for candidate generation.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and client relationships.
  • Experience using various Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques (e.g. recruiting on social platforms, networking and crafting Boolean search strings).
  • A successful track record of performing against quotas, deadlines and meeting recruiting goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proven ability to develop and use technology to analyze data, manage projects and facilitate decision making.
  • Ability to design and develop recruitment sourcing plans.
  • Ability to analyze job requirements and establish appropriate applicant selection criteria and matrices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and university EEO/AA/ Diversity laws, guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

  Preferred: 

  • Prior experience recruiting for a high-volume, fast-paced organization.
  • Prior experience sourcing for roles in a hospital or healthcare system.
  • HR certifications.

Posting Overview :  This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all applicants will occur two weeks from the posting date.   • Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on campus, including parking lots and outdoor areas on the premises.

  • This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair. 
  • This function/position maybe designated as “essential.” This means that when the Hospital is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook University Hospital and related facilities. 

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: 

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine’s Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

 

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer. 

*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as – $51,000 – $61,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
