Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As a Tax Officer, you will assist RBC Royal Trust relationship managers by providing efficient, accurate, and quality client service. Key client service elements include preparing estate asset summaries and preparing estate income tax returns. The Tax Officer will also assist and support relationship mangers by providing estate income tax technical support. Quality assurance, attention to detail, and meeting key milestones are paramount. Teamwork, collaboration, and developing interpersonal relationships are important skills for success.What will you do?

  • Participate in preparing and reviewing Estate Summary of estate assets
  • Prepare and review T-1 and T-3 income tax returns for estates and trusts
  • Act as estate income tax resource person for clients and internal partners
  • Proactively maintain timely written, verbal, and electronic communication with internal and external contacts
  • Leverage the use of technology to maximize efficiencies and ensure that all files are appropriately documented
  • Exercise due diligence in following procedures and guidelines

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • University degree or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in estate and trust taxation
  • Requires fluency in French and English in order to serve our clients in the community with French and English speaking needs
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), or willingness to complete within 12 months

Nice-to-have

  • Estate administration experience
  • Accounting designation or equivalent
