Job Description
The Tax and Treasury Manager supports all Aramark Canada lines of businesses and legal entities, including Aramark Canada Ltd., CPS, S&E, Refreshments and various First Nations limited partnerships. The Tax and Treasury Manager ensures income and sale tax compliance, supports tax audits, optimizes tax expense and oversees some of the more complex tax and treasury accounting.

Job Responsibilities
Income and Sales Tax Compliance – research and answer any Tax and/or Treasury questions from operations, managers and staff, including requesting government rulings and interpretation of tax legislation, reviewing contracts for tax issues. Ensure sales tax returns and remittances are completed on time. Assist Corporate tax with income tax compliance, including providing information for preparation of tax returns. Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provisions.
Tax and Treasury Accounting – Review and approve various monthly tax and treasury G/L reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy. Establish rates, allocate and reconcile bank and insurance charges.
Manage CRA and Provincial Tax Audits and Sales Tax Recovery Consultants (both income and sales tax). Engage external consultants as necessary to respond to assessments.
Cash Reconciliation – Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all treasury and bank reconciliations (over 100 bank accounts and over 50 G/L accounts). Ensure all reconciliations are completed in a timely manner and assist on any complex issues. Review and approve journal entries that are above the analysts limit to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
- University or College Education preferably in accounting, finance, tax
- 5 years Tax and Treasury Experience, ideally tax experience in a major accounting firm
- CPA designation
