Who you are:The Teach Abroad Senior Coordinator is responsible for proactively moving CIEE Teach Abroad applicants forward through every stage of the pre-departure process, including initial inquiries, application processing, job placement, participant confirmation, pre-departure guidance, and empathetic, highly responsive customer support. In addition, the Senior Coordinator collaborates with in-country staff and partner organizations on the job placement process and in-country orientations. This position is full-time.What you’ll do:
- Proactively engage with interested leads or applicants via phone, text, and email outreach, as well as scheduled calls.
- Answer applicant and participant questions via phone, text, and email – maintain contact with participants throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Review applications, accept applicants, and convert them to paid participants.
- Ensure that financial accounts for participants are accurate and paid in full, and follow up on discrepancies and missing payments.
- Maintain the integrity of participant data in the database system, and create and use reports as needed.
- Collect and track applicant documents and visa materials.
- Communicate with overseas staff and coordinate delivery of participant information to program sites.
- Produce pre-departure materials, weekly updates, group emails, and other information delivered to participants.
- General clerical duties include but are not limited to digital records keeping, preparing and distributing letters (digital or hard-copy, as necessary) to verify past participation, confirm insurance coverage, or support visa applicants.
- Assist with program marketing, including but not limited to writing announcements, blog posts, newsletters, representing CIEE at recruitment events (online or in person), collecting participant photos and other content, and posting to social media and engaging with social media audiences.
- Maintain the Teach Abroad email inbox; respond to inquiries and specific questions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent).
- Two years of professional work experience required.
- Must have the ability to operate independently, and plan for and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills including attention to detail required.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of audiences – Must be able to exude empathy and control over the phone and in email.
- Must have the ability to communicate fluently, concisely, and creatively using the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Must have extremely strong interpersonal skills, be a team player and a self-starter who is able to exercise sound judgment to handle a variety issues.
- Advanced experience working with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat required – must know how to set up mail merges and how to format spreadsheets and documents.
- Experience studying, teaching, or living abroad preferred but not required.
- Experience with database systems and Salesforce a plus but not required – Must be comfortable learning new databases and technology.
- Experience with sales and enrollment management desirable but not required.
- Occasional domestic and international travel required.
