Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Supply
Salary: £125 – £160 per dayGSL Education are looking for qualified and experienced Modern Foreign Language Teachers to workon a supply basisat an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. Working on a supply basis means you will not need to plan or mark, but provide cover in the absence of permanent staff members.About the School:

  • The school consists of students aged 11-18 has been graded to be ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED in their quality of education, personal development, leadership and management and their sixth-form provision.

  • They welcome all children as well as prioritise admission for children with SEND.
  • They offer a range of training opportunities to help the teachers stay at the forefront of educational practices.
  • They create a welcoming environment where all members of the school community feel safe, at ease, and accepted.
  • They use small group intervention to target gaps in understanding in core subjects.
  • For SEN children who require adaptations to accommodate their requirements, the school ensures access arrangements are in place to support their normal approach of working and, when necessary, deploys teaching assistants.

MFL Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be able to deliver French to GCSE; having Spanish or German as a second language is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous teaching experience in the last 2 years (placements can be counted for ECTs).
  • Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various classroom environments and teaching schedules as required.
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
