Teaching AssistantBarry, Vale of GlamorganSupporting students in KS3 and KS4 (11-16) with Additional Learning Needs.Full Time (32.5 hrs/week)We are looking for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to take on a role within one of The Vale’s largest Additional Needs provisions, based in a large high school. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-2-1 basis with learners, and support them academically, emotionally and behaviourally throughout their school day. The students that you work with benefit from a range of adapted lessons, activities and intervention sessions to help them learn and develop.Previous experience working in ANY setting with young people (schools, nurseries, daycares, youth groups, etc) is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided. This background can be within any Key Stage, as learners in the base have a range of ability levels from Primary to A Level. A keen interest in Additional Needs support is essential, as you will be working with young people with a range of needs and abilities.**The school are offering an initial 1-year contract, from September 2024 to July 2025, with the opportunity for a permanent contract upon completion of this period. **Requirements:– Enhanced Child Only DBS, with Update Service– EWC Registration– Experience working with young people and/or those with Additional Needs (desirable)If you are looking for a rewarding and varied role in The Vale, get in touch today to apply! All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
