Milk Education have partnered with a Specialist School in Lambeth which supports 5-19 year olds. They are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis You will have the opportunity of working either within Primary, Secondary or POST 16, however you must be flexible to work across ages. All students who attend this setting have educational health care plans. They are a school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. Underlying these difficulties, most of our pupils will also have some combination of additional complex needs, ASC, Attachment difficulties, Developmental Trauma or Delay, Speech and Language difficulties, Cognition and Learning difficulties and more.

The setting offers a wide and bespoke educational package offering support across the primary and secondary curriclum, as well as therapeutic and pastoral support and pathways to employment.

This is a full time opportunity and a permanent role to start after the februrary half term, Monday-Friday, 8:30-16:00.

Your role & responsibilities:

  • Support the Teacher, in the preparation and delivery of lessons
  • The ability to work on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Support students in their learning and development
  • Identify areas of need, and implement strategies and intervention to boost learners attainment

Non-negotiables:

  • Previous experience working within an educational setting
  • Understanding of SEN and SEMH
  • Creative and compassionate individual
  • Effective communicator and team player
  • Confident supporting those with behaviours that challenge
