Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)Location: Cranleigh, SurreySalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceContract: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only)About The School:This school is a unique and caring educational community that supports children and young adults aged 5-19 with complex learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and additional needs. Based in the heart of Cranleigh, they provide a safe, nurturing environment where every individual can grow, thrive, and achieve their full potential.They are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their supportive and professional team.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and ensuring that individual education plans (IEPs) are followed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and personal development.
  • Support students with personal care, communication, and social skills where required.
  • Help with classroom preparation, resource management, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for all.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to support students’ holistic development.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with children and young adults with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role or an educational setting is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
  • Willingness to support students with personal care needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
