HHE LC – Working together to nurture life-long learners
HHE LC is a school based in Nottingham City which caters for pupils and young people with a range of medical or mental health needs. The school is located on four sites.
We are seeking to appoint, two effective and professional Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work at our Sherwood Pathways site. This is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for experienced and qualified Teaching Assistants to join our team. These posts are not your ‘run of the mill’ Teaching Assistant roles and will offer great professional development opportunities and fulfilment in a specialist field of education. They will involve working at the Sherwood base; within pupil’s homes and also in schools supporting transition into or out of HHELC.
The Sherwood Education Centre (Sherwood Pathways) is a short-term provision and is based on Perry Road, Nottingham. We teach Primary pupils who have experienced a wide range of anxiety-related traumas, who are unable to successfully attend their own school. Some of our pupils may have been permanently excluded or are close to this and Sherwood Pathways can provide a ‘reset’ or ‘circuit break’, supporting pupils to re-engage positively with school routines and learning, before ultimately reintegrating back to their own school or a more appropriate school setting. The successful candidates will need a full driving licence and access to a car.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:
- Are excellent at building positive and professional relationships with the school community – staff, pupils, parents and carers, other professionals
- Can support pupils who demonstrate a wide range of behaviours, enabling them to participate with and develop their learning
- Have experience of working with pupils with a wide range of individual needs, across the primary age range
- Are flexible, enthusiastic professionals, who are able to adapt quickly, to ‘think on their feet’ and who will act with integrity
- Are able to plan and deliver intervention strategies and lessons, as well as managing referred cases under direction of teachers and school leaders
- Are passionate and excited about the opportunity to work in our school and are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all of our pupils
- Additional experiences/expertise/training would be very much welcomed e.g nurture group experience, ELSA, forest schools, planning and teaching phonics/intervention programmes
We can offer:
- A whole school staff team with the highest level of expertise in their field, committed to achieving the best for their pupils
- A friendly, skilled primary team, who are always ready to offer support and advice to one another
- A varied, exciting and ever evolving job where no two days are the same
- An opportunity to be involved in the ongoing development of a specialist field of education
Both roles will be based at our Sherwood Pathways Education Centre, Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) but successful candidates will be expected to work across our sites when needed.
These posts are exciting and fulfilling opportunities for experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent to join our team. Applicants are strongly encouraged to arrange a visit to our Sherwood site to learn more about the role and HHELC’s exciting journey.
The school takes the safeguarding of its pupils and staff very seriously and this post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and receipt of satisfactory references.
To apply please complete an application form clearly showing how you meet the requirements in the Person Specification and return this, together with a completed Equality and Diversity Monitoring form and covering letter to:
