The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund was established in 1949 by the United Nations General Assembly to provide retirement, death, disability, and related benefits for staff of the United Nations and other member organizations of the Fund. The Pension Fund pays benefits in 17 currencies to more than 80,000 beneficiaries who reside in 190 countries, and services more than 140,000 participants who work in the 24 member organizations of the Pension Fund. The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund-Pension Administration (UNJSPF-PA) comprises about 250 staff from diverse countries and cultures, based across four prominent duty stations (New York, Geneva, Bangkok, and Nairobi). Visit www.unjspf.org for more details. This position is located in the Business Support Section (BSS) in the Pension Administration (PA) of the UNJSPF. The incumbent reports to the Senior Facilities Management Assistant and the Contract Management Officer.ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: • Provide support to procurement processes for acquisition of goods and services • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures to be applied when procuring goods and services. • Review requisition orders in terms of accuracy, specifications, and availability of funds. • Record and prioritize purchasing requests and obtain additional information, as required. • Assist in the Preparation of Purchase Orders. • Track procurement processes up to delivery, acceptance, and payment, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services ordered, in compliance with the applicable terms and conditions. • Participates in the preparation of reports on buildings services: collects and compiles information, checks statistical data for accuracy, makes simple cost calculations, translates statistical data into graphs, computes year to year operational expenses. • Receives request for repairs, generates appropriate work orders and blueprints, specifying the appropriate technical data, and dispatches them to the appropriate trade shops to proceed with alteration work. • Laise with relevant sections to register the office equipment in the inventory database. • Assist in the physical verification of office equipment and maintaining the related files and inventory records. • Follows up on pending requisitions and requests for additional work and priority services. • Assist in the disposal of obsolete goods. • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for correspondence, documents, computer office files, reference materials, rules, regulations, administrative instructions, and other related documentation. • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Update and maintain relevant internal databases and records. • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. • Performs a wide range of office support and administrative functions. • Perform other duties as may be required by the Chief of the Unit.Competencies

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
