Department: Paediatrics & NeonatesHours: 37.5This role is to work from Monday to Friday on site, within the core hours of 08.00 – 17.00 (7.5 hours per day).The collaborative of Women & Children Services, is looking for a Team Leader who is looking for a challenge, with the potential to develop skills and knowledge and will support the collaborative in obtaining its goals of working through the recovery plan, created by the COVID pandemic and providing a high quality service to its patients. Please be aware of this when submitting your application.Main duties of the jobThe post holders will be required to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and supervisory skills and be able to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team taking a lead role in providing a comprehensive, effective and professional secretarial and administration support to the service. They will be responsible for ensuring the team deliver an effective and efficient service to Paeds & Neonates.The post holders will deputise for the Admin Manager in their absence and undertake aspects of a line management role for junior admin support.South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.About usSouth Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit.   • GCSE in Maths and English or Functional Skills, Level 2
  • NVQ3 level Secretarial or Business Administrative qualification or equivalent level of demonstrable experience
  • Medical Terminology Qualification Level 2 or equivalent level or short courses or equivalent demonstrable working experience
  • Customer care qualification, Level 2 or short courses or equivalent demonstrable working experience

Desirable

  • People management qualification
  • Audio-typing qualification or equivalent level of working experience with medical terminology

Knowledge & SkillsEssential

  • Substantial working knowledge of secretarial/clerical processes
  • Substantial working knowledge of functionality of Patient Administration Systems
  • Understanding of a range of work procedures associated with outpatient clinic arrangements, secretarial office procedures and case note procedures
  • Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and patient confidentiality

ExperienceEssential

  • Demonstrable experience in Line Management and Leadership activities
  • Substantial Secretarial and administrative experience
  • Extensive use of Office and Outlook, including word, excel and powerpoint, e-mail and internet
