Location: Various locations across the BoroughThis is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Children’s Social Services TeamWe pay an attractive salary of £45,718 – £48,710 and offer access to training and development opportunities.Caerphilly Children’s Services are expanding their residential service and we would like to recruit a dynamic and motivated individual to the post of permanent Team Manager within Children’s services.You will be responsible and accountable for the overall management of a residential home which includes managing a staff team. You will need to ensure the delivery of safe, effective child-centred service to children and young people who are looked after.The service provided is 24 hours, 365 days a year, using the PACE approach (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) which embeds a therapeutic parenting model. You will support staff to deliver high quality care for young people whose lives have been disrupted as a result of abuse, developmental trauma, neglect, breakdown of family, foster care or other placement types.The model of care we provide is underpinned by relational led care and an attachment-based approach and young people within the home can benefit from the involvement of MyST, our internal therapeutic psychological service provided by trained practitioners. MyST provides the necessary interventions and support to the young people directly through the Residential Lead Therapeutic Practitioner, and through observation and direct feedback to staff within the home.For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A QCF Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Level 4 USW Certificate in Step Up to Management.
  • Enrolment on Level 4 or Level 5 management qualification with the view to complete the Level 5 within 3 years.
  • Significant experience in a residential care setting at a senior level.
  • A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake home visits, to transport children, young people and parents / carers during the week.
