Job Title: Technical Authority – Systems

Location: Portsmouth, Frimley (flexible)

Salary: Up to £71 955 (depending upon skills & experience)

What you’ll be doing:

· Working closely with a range of MoD Customers within the Naval Domain to propose and develop solutions to complex problems

· Working in a flexible, dynamic environment and be willing to work in areas that are outside their immediate experience

· Carrying out complex system technical analysis and investigations, including provision of recommendation to the Customer

· Building strong relationships with customers, other BAE Systems business units, and industry partners

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

· Experience in the architectural development and design of complex technical solutions across the early stages of the lifecycle where the nature of the final solution is still evolving

· Experience of driving strategic technical thinking and coherence across multiple stakeholder communities

· Experience of presentation of recommendations to senior stakeholders

Desirable:

· Degree, HND or HNC in a STEM related subject or equivalent experience

· Knowledge of Combat Systems, particularly Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Systems, Communication Systems, and Information Systems

· Experience in working with MOD Business Processes

· Understanding of emerging Maritime Autonomous Systems and Technologies and how these might be exploited within the ASW domain

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

As a Systems Technical Authority, you will assume a pivotal niche position, allowing direct interaction with customers to grasp their operational challenges.
