Where you come in:
In this full-time position, based in any Australian city, you will be responsible for the capability, cost, and security of the technical stack that comprises Save the Children Australia’s data platform. You will be part of our Technology team and report to our Chief Information Officer
You will make an impact by:
Leading the evolution of the capabilities of the technical stack underpinning the data platform, collaborating across the organisation with key stakeholders to define the roadmap.
Leading the definition of conceptual, logical and physical data models in partnership with data domain owners
Be hands on in creating, managing, optimising data pipelines and reporting environments.
Actively participating in / collaborating with the Technology team, contributing data expertise where required.
Being a champion for data security and compliance, constantly seeking ways to improve our posture and reduce our risk, particularly through systematic changes and controls.
Ensuring our data environment and practices enable us to take advantage of advanced analytics and AI to amplify our impact for children, improve our operational efficiency and secure client, donor and beneficiary information.

This role requires:
Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) & optimisation.
Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
Experience defining and managing operational data flows including designing, building and maintaining robust integrations between various systems
Experience in working with data custodians to define conceptual, logical models and translating these into relevant physical models that support business goals
Strong project management and organizational skills.
