It’s an opportunity to be part of something special.Role SummaryRole responsible for all aspects of cross functional agile delivery and execution, inclusive of portfolio programmes within area of technical expertise.Lead large, multi-disciplinary technical programmes with budget responsibility from £500k – £5m.Independent operator with ability to manage highly complex programmes, stakeholders and MSPs.Responsible for maintaining Lego plan and tracking work against PI objectives; reporting to programme level steercos, MoR and other governance forums.Responsible for compliance to tech and regulatory (SOx, GxP etc.) standards, controls and risk management of programmes and delivery.Accountable for all aspects of cross-functional delivery and execution, inclusive of portfolio programs for the entirety of the Engineering interfacing with leaders in all product towers.Coaches teams on best practices regarding agile ways of working including continuous improvement and leveraging empiricism to create a high performing autonomous team culture.Responsible for the creation of a global portfolio view of all Engineering activity and development product roadmaps. This will mean working closely with each Product Directors/Managers/Owners across Digital and Tech and ensuring roadmaps for each new product are defined, optimised for value driven outcomes.Responsibilities:Responsible to partner with the CC&E Function Heads and Head of Operational Effectiveness to prioritize the portfolio – containing demand from D&T and Business Units / Functions and the CC&E pillar – within the available capacity. Drive excellence in new product, platform, portfolio management and overall delivery across key initiatives.Responsible for the creation of the engineering lego plan, aligned to demand and prioritisation of engineering demand and aligning budget and supporting stakeholders with financial accounting and reporting.Collaborate with the Cloud Adoption Lead, Risk & Control Lead and Operational Performance Lead to create a cross-functional team for Engineering, delivering a consistent service to product towers and driving a simple, standard approach to value creation.Collaborate with the Cost & Financials Lead to understand the finances of Engineering and aligning this to strategic initiatives (roadmap & actuals), as part of the annual CAPEX and OPEX review and strategy finance planning. Drive Financial Discipline for key delivery initiatives and collaborate to ensure effective cross-charging models for Business funded workDrive Annual Planning for Engineering to understand priorities for 3 year strategic plan. Ensure Engineering are focusing on what matters most to deliver the strategic goals for the business. Drive teams to have an entrepreneurial spirit and get their teams to be the guide in Tech delivery of business strategy.Lead large, multi-disciplinary technical programmes with budget responsibility from £500k – £5m. Set up Engineering with cross functional squads aligned to value streams and tribes. Drive entrepreneurial spirit across the tribes’ squads in their aim for customer & consumer obsessed product excellence. In collaboration with Engineering Directors own resource strategy and approach for Engineering, including internal and external resourcing. Work with Risk & Control Lead to ensure delivery risks and approaches are managed effectively with clear focus on SOx and GxP impacting work as well as other regulatory requirementsRequired Experience:Deep technical domain expertise and experience delivering highly complex programmes of work within a regulated environment.Proven ability to lead and develop others: hiring the right talent; actively developing your team to perform to the highest standards; delivering through other teams and leaders. Proven experience of delivering cross functional enterprise wide projects of budgets £10m for global organisations. (similar to Consumer Health).Knowledge/experience with how digital products need to vary across markets while supporting the need for us to remain x1xa scalable business.Experience of working with global teams and suppliers across time zones. Demonstrable experience devising, managing and deploying a resource plan and budget to maximise impact. Solid experience leading engineering teams in truly agile environments – releasing new product increments leveraging CI/CD, automated testing and agile approaches.A demonstrable ability to understands the needs and economics of a business and the market around it. A user centric approach to product development, leading teams to focus on the genuine end user need above the views of internal stakeholders.Care to join us.
