We are modernising our technology foundations, digitising the processes of the university to transform experience for students and staff, and partnering across the university to drive differentiation in UCL education and research.About the roleOur IT Service & Operations department are currently recruiting for a Technical Team Lead (HR Management Systems) to join the HR & Finance Applications team in ITSO. You will be specifically leading on the delivery of work against the strategic plans for our HR applications and put your expertise to good use on improving and transforming the customer experience for all of UCL’s Oracle EBS/HRMS users and peripheral SaaS applications.As the Technical Lead for HR Management Systems, you will have overall responsibility for the support, operational management and improvement of the Oracle EBS core HR, Payroll, HRSS, Compensation & Benefits, Absence Management and OLM modules alongside peripheral SaaS applications for Learning and Talent Management. You will oversee and develop the product teams of HR developers in delivering new innovative features and technology, establishing new practices and standards where necessary, supporting the integration of new applications and maintaining the stability of the systems. A major strategic imperative will be the migrating our Oracle EBS on-prem Platform to a Cloud SaaS solution. Legal/statutory compliance of the systems will also be a core part of the role as you further develop the HR management software capabilities of UCL for the future.Additionally, you’ll be working in a matrixed Agile environment with a wider team of Architects, Business Analysts, other Product teams, the ERP Platform team and business stake holders.job ref – B01 04082Closing date – 14.6.2014About youAs a Senior HR Management Systems Technical Lead/Consultant, you have experience in establishing, leading and developing an HR Applications Product team aligned to the delivery of world class services and you’ve delivered exceptional results by working with a wide range of stakeholders, leading multi-disciplinary teams for sustainable success, including setting performance targets, mentoring and developing staff in order to build flexibility and resilience in the team.You have in-depth industry knowledge and experience of implementing and supporting HR Management Systems (Oracle EBS preferred), both on-premise and ideally Cloud, in a large scale and complex organisation, and are the recognised expert on the technical environment and standards. You should be easily able to quickly understand new technical concepts/solutions and translate between the business and technical staff. YouYou have consistently performed an operational support role in tandem with a development function for a wide variety of services, both Oracle and non-Oracle, managing the conflicts between them effectively, and have procured and managed relationships with suppliers on crucial developments. This includes managing critical or complex issues and following standard ITIL incident, problem, change and capacity management processes.You are proactive and self-motivated in identifying opportunities for the benefit of the overall business and keen to execute those initiatives, researching the design options and evaluating against requirements to provide costed options appraisal. Subsequently steering the development, testing and implementation in a technically Agile fashion is also essential.In addition, you are able to trouble-shoot complex system problems by gathering technical and non-technical details of a problem / incident and systematically works towards a solution with a number of different teams and stakeholders.It is essential that you have good interpersonal skills and are able to persuade and influence stakeholders, delivery managers and senior portfolio management and have the commitment to ensure initiatives are realised. You will be skilful at enabling team collaboration as well as organising and motivating teams.
