Binnies is recruiting a Technical Manager to sit within the Environmental Consultancy (EC) Team. Can you:Lead and be accountable for the coordination and resourcing of specialist resources to deliver the portfolio of work.Provide bid management, technical bid and client engagement support for client opportunities.Coordinate with Binnies technical communities of practice to focus service development and innovation to meet current and future client needs.Collaborate with industry associations, research institutions, and other relevant organisations to stay informed of the latest technological advancements and emerging trends in the field of environmental consultancy and impact assessment.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure Health, Safety and Wellbeing is at the heart of each of our projectsLeads the technical coordination of EC projectsOversees technical teams of environmental services specialists in the production of concise, focused reports for a range of clientsEnsures that reports meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budgetProvides technical guidance to the team, ensuring that they are at the forefront of the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practicesCoordinates with Project Managers and Client representatives to deliver client and project needs, provide updates on project progress, and address any technical concernsIndependently provides technical leadership and shares knowledge and application of technical and quality management processesCoordinates multi-disciplinary and specialist teams to deliver projects with a range of complexity in the fields of impact assessment, nature-based solution development, habitat creation and landscape-scale enhancement.Client Focused Technical LeadershipResponsible for determining key client interests and drivers on high complex projects and determine the key clients in specific business lines.Seen as a key technical advisor in delivery of environmental projectsUnderstands and communicates industry and technical trends to the wider Binnies and other stakeholdersProactively offers other technical services to the clients to meet their specific challenges and requirements.Proactively contributes and supports business development, strategy and pursuit activitiesCommercial AcumenProactively manages allocated overhead budget assigned to client engagement and bid management tasks.Awareness of contract management principles and able to demonstrate proactive change management through task coordination and project deliveryKnowledge of programme management using Microsoft Project or equivalent softwareAttributes & ExperienceMaster’s degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences preferred, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual qualified to perform the job responsibilities.Holds an Industry recognized professional chartered qualification.Experience in providing technical coordination of multi-disciplinary teams across the full project development cycle (strategy, appraisal, feasibility, consenting & delivery)Experience in integrating digital tools or solutions to improve project quality and efficiencyWe develop intelligent solutions using our award-winning integrated planning and design approach to deliver functional infrastructure and lasting environmental and social legacies.
