CDP’s Scoring team within our Disclosure Management department is responsible for the annual review of our scoring methodology and criteria, developing and delivering training to ensure consistency of scoring, and preparing the final release of the hotly anticipated score releases, including the prestigious “A-list”.The Technical Manager – Forests Scoring will be responsible for leading the delivery of CDPs corporate Forests scoring program. Our annual corporate scoring datasets and associated scoring methodologies are used by responding companies and cities, investors, researchers, ESG organisations, and by financial institutions. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high quality annual environmental scores that incentivise and guide responding companies on a journey through disclosure towards becoming leaders in environmental transparency and action.This is a maternity leave coverage contract with an earliest start date of 1 October 2024, and a contract duration of a minimum of 12 months.Key responsibilities include:

  • Forests operational leadership within our Scoring team.
  • Coordinating updates to the Forests scoring methodology.
  • Management of the Forests Scoring team, including onboarding, acting as an escalation point and day-to-day coordination.
  • Monitoring progress against scoring deliverables.
  • Development and delivery of scoring training processes.
  • Maintaining and improving automation of Forests scoring criteria.
  • Identifying process improvements and efficiencies for future systems developments.
  • Coordinating quality assurance of CDPs Forests scores.
  • Coordinating and motivating the team to achieve deadlines.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Academic or professional background in corporate sustainability, environmental science, or any other relevant topic
  • Line management experience, including the ability to motivate, support and enable
  • Excellent data analysis skills in Excel (familiar working with large datasets, pivot tables and visualisation)
  • Proven experience delivering multi-faceted projects to strict deadlines and budget
  • Excellent relationship building skills, including the ability to manage expectations and find solutions

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Project management exposure, particularly Agile and Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience and/or knowledge of CDP systems, including disclosure and scoring frameworks
  • Knowledge of topics and trends relating to forests and sustainable sourcing of forest risk commodities desirable
  • Experience working with ESG frameworks / benchmarks beneficial
