We are looking for a Technician – Calibration to support the growing demands of producing high quality sample preparation, while accommodating quick turnaround times. Specifically, sample preparation and the data produced at the site-based labs is utilized for quality and process control in operating facilities, Minerals Accounting, as well as meeting permit requirements.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor – D2D/Projects and working in a diverse team, you will be:

  • Perform routine inspections of work area and equipment/instrumentation including all plant autosamplers
  • Conduct calibration and routine maintenance of samplers and on line analyzers. Arrange for repairs with respective contractors and vendors when necessary
  • Collect and request analysis for a wide variety of calibration samples throughout all process streams.
  • Review results from process control samples ensuring that they are collected and processed in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.
  • Troubleshooting of instrumentation issues and failures while applying good laboratory practices.
  • Lead peers in development and act as a resource for other employees within the laboratory.
  • Assist in developing and improving existing methods of analysis on X-Ray systems.
  • Drive safety improvements for plant On-Stream-Analysers and sampling systems

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • 2-3 year of related laboratory work experience in the types of tasks associated with the site-based labs senior technician – calibration tasks.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
  • Must have good communication skills and work well in a team environment.
  • Must have an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Experience with sampling systems and XRF analysis along with calibration and maintenance of said systems.
