Our client a large public sector organisation requires a Technician in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy based in Newtownabbey

Role: Technician in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

Rate of Pay: £12.11 per hour

Location: Newtownabbey

Hours: 18 hours

Duration: Temporary

Main duties/Responsibilities:

Preparation

  • Preparation of classroom area, resources, materials, equipment and/or tools before classes arrive to carry out practical activities.
  • Preparation of department for external events.

Clear Up, Storage

  • Ensure resources, materials, equipment and/or tools are maintained and stored in good working order and reporting of any faults to Assistant Head of Department.
  • Assessing the condition of resources, materials, equipment and/or tools with regard to health and safety before further issue.
  • General tidying of stores and classroom.
  • Regular cleaning of resources, materials, equipment, and/or tools.
  • Deep clean of department.
  • Dismantle and storage of relevant resources, materials, equipment and/or tools at the end of practical sessions.
  • Disposing of used material in a safe and approved manner.
  • Rotation and stock control of materials as appropriate.

General

  • Cash handling and completion of relevant documentation relating to the department where applicable.
  • Assisting teaching staff with the set up and clearance for exhibitions, competitions and other displays
  • Support all staff in ensuring the general safety of students.

Essential Criteria:

Level 2 or equivalent in relevant vocational area or 12 months relevant experience.

  • Proven ability in implementing knowledge of relevant vocational area
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the effective use of resources
  • Proven ability to maintain safe working practices whilst complying with Health & Safety & Hygiene Regulations.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to be enthuse and motivate self and others
  • Proven ability to use ICT
  • Proven experience of the operation and cleaning of machinery, hand tools and/ or equipment
