ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Technology Learning Manager position is an exciting new career opportunity for a tech-savvy individual who is enthusiastic about using technology to help others be more productive in their work. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with end users to teach them best practices and functions when working in cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.) and when leveraging new technologies such as AI tools for business. This role is critical in driving user adoption of collaboration and productivity tools aimed at improving work efficiency. This is a professional level role requiring previous experience with cloud environments.Under the supervision of the VP Information Technology, the Technology Learning Manager provides mid-level project management and solutions services in support of Technology Tools Learning, Special Project Workflow, and Business Operations Learning. This position also supports the administration of Internews productivity tools including Microsoft 365, Egnyte, and the groups, lists, and Teams objects used in these environments. The Technology Learning Manager supervises the SharePoint Specialist and works in close coordination with the Knowledge Management team.LOGISTICSInternews has Headquarters offices in Washington, DC and London, UK which support a hybrid workforce with staff working remotely, fully in-office, or partially remote. This role may be partially remote (2-3 days per week in office, and 2-3 days per week from a pre-approved remote location) or fully remote, and fully remote candidates in an appropriate time zone will also be considered. - Manages the Technology Webinar series, hosting weekly webinars and managing other hosts across time zones, updating them on new technology advances and reacting to growing needs or quarterly priorities.
- Prepares scripts, researches, and designs learning webinars for new topics as implemented technologies change and new technologies are adopted in the organization.
- Manages, coordinates, and conducts new staff technology onboarding sessions for US and Latin America-based staff.
- Provides ad-hoc, custom trainings to individual users or teams based on request for technical guidance across Internews collaboration platforms and systems (MS 365 and Egynte).
- Maintains up-to-date library of Technology Solutions & Services team procedures and policy documentation on the staff intranet.
- As needed, drafts procedures and policy documentation on technology learning-related topics.
- Actively involved in the testing, implementing, and roll-out of new technologies adopted for staff productivity.
- Manages the technology department’s online learning courses on the LMS (Learning Management System).
- Develops technological learning content for LMS courses.
- Creates training videos for internal department use; provides ad-hoc video course editing.
- Produces new “how-to” guides to accompany technical learning modules and new technology roll-outs.
- Performs knowledge management duties including, but not limited to, Weekly Technology Tip post and maintenance of the Technology department’s intranet content.
- Coordinates, manages, and onboards both Internews and Internews Europe’s Board of Directors with access to the Board’s digital repository, resources, and communication center, meeting one-on-one and responding to support requests.
- Supervises the SharePoint specialist.
- Manages special projects within the Technology Solutions Services department as needed.
- As needed, liaises with external vendors to open tickets and resolve issues.
End User Support
- Manages new employee trainings related to core technologies such as Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Egnyte, conferencing tools, and other applications supported by Internews.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of Internews’ core business systems and tools, with the ability to train users and provide guidance on the most appropriate use of these tools to enhance efficiency and streamline data management and work processes.
Departmental Administration and People Skills
- Provides strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication to colleagues and customers.
- Builds appropriate rapport and maintains a positive and professional working relationship with co-workers and consultants.
- Manages crisis situations from a digital technologies and tech equipment perspective using excellent communication with affected staff and management.
- Responds to support requests with a professional and friendly tone.
- Manages support requests with an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Escalates and asks questions quickly from management when assistance is needed.
- Works within Internews-approved communications tools.
- Actively participates and coordinates testing of new software and hardware as requested.
- Follows procedures precisely and thoroughly.

- Minimum of seven years of professional experience, preferably in a Technology Learning-related role.
- University degree or equivalent lived/professional experience.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Enjoys working with users and teams to solve business problems and design appropriate solutions.
- Ability to think critically to solve complex problems, especially when canned procedures are not available and/or are not appropriate for the solution needed.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows 10.
- Highly proficient in use of Microsoft 365 applications and administration tools, including but not limited to: Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Forms, SharePoint.
- Familiarity with computer systems from end user perspective.
- Knowledge of computer software applications.
- Willingness to continue developing professional skills that benefit Internews and the individual.
- Detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to follow all policies and procedures.
