About the position
We are seeking a Solution Architect to join our Core Technology Services (CTS) portfolio in our ITS Department! Our group is a unified team recognized Bank-wide for being diverse, inclusive, and passionate about the work we do to help the Bank become digital, ready, and resilient.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Site Reliability Engineering team, you will join a group continuously investing to deliver outstanding services in a world-class organization where automation is combined with best practices to streamline and standardize products as well as improve the speed of delivery for Canada’ Central Bank.
What you will do
Operational Risk Assessment Framework (ORAF) ensures all technology architectures adhere to the Bank’s IT standards, ensuring the Bank’s resiliency and operational needs are met during the technology architecture phase. As new technologies are deployed to production, ORAF assesses the operational readiness of a solution, ensuring all architecture standards have been implemented and the solution is ready to be supported by the various operational teams at the Bank.
As a Solution Architect, you will perform the ORAF assessment of new technology architectures and identify risks and gaps related to the Bank’s IT standards. You will work with various solution architects across the IT portfolios to review the architectures and document any risks or gaps related to them. As those new technologies are deployed into production, you will assess the operational readiness of the solutions and work with the various project stakeholders (project managers, solution architects and technical subject matter experts) to document any risks or gaps in the solution being deployed into production. You will also be responsible to maintain the technical risk register for any ORAF assessment findings.
You will also be responsible to evolve the Operational Risk Assessment Framework (ORAF), working with various stakeholders across IT to improve on the assessment criteria and evolve them as the Bank’s technology standards change. You will champion the changes to ORAF and use your strong communication skills to continuously engage with stakeholders across the Bank to help understand the importance of ORAF and the process itself. You will also document IT standards and communicate those standards with various stakeholders across IT.
