The Department of Molecular Pathobiology at the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry seeks applications at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor for tenure track research-focused positions.

The Department of Molecular Pathobiology has a strong and rapidly expanding research program with substantial support from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and Foundations. The Department is located in state-of-the-art laboratories in close proximity to the broader NYU research community. Research in the Department focuses on understanding normal human biology and disease through studies of molecules, cells, tissues and systems as well as the engineering aspects of life science and medicine. Current interests include: metabolic and inflammatory diseases; biomaterials, 3-D printed scaffolds, tissue engineering, developmental biology and AI linked diagnostics; and studies of the molecular mechanisms and treatment of chronic pain.

The Department wishes to recruit highly creative scientists who will lead and maintain cutting-edge and extramurally funded research programs that will complement and synergize with current research activities in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology. The ideal candidates will interact with faculty of NYU Dentistry, NYU School of Medicine, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, as well as foster collaborations with the greater NYU and New York research communities. Applicants are sought in the following fields.

Metabolism and Inflammation Group. Individuals with interests in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammatory and metabolic disease, aging, signal transduction, ion channels, mitochondrial biology, host-microbiome interactions, and translational therapeutic target development are encouraged to apply. For inquiries, contact: Dr. Xin Li ([email protected] ) or Dr. Rodrigo Lacruz ([email protected] ), Directors, Metabolism and Inflammation Research Group.

Biomaterials and Regenerative Biology Research Group. Individuals with interests in biomedical and chemical engineering, biomaterial interactions with tissues, tissue regeneration, stem cell biology, nanomedicine, and modeling of human development and disease through organoid experimental models are encouraged to apply. For inquiries, contact: Dr. Anna Di Gregorio ([email protected] ) or Dr. Jack Ricci ([email protected] ), Directors, Biomaterials and Regenerative Biology Research Group.
