- Advice on product design with regards to testability of the product and design.
- Creates test solutions incl. related test environment, coordinates product ramp up and drives continuous improvement topics.
- Perform standardized electrical tests as directed per UL, CSA, and other certification bodies under the direction of lab team lead.
- Produce accurate and detailed testing documentation describing the performance of various electrical devices including circuit breakers, controls devices, and distribution equipment
- Trouble shoot test set-ups when necessary. Selects and operates test equipment/software as required by test requirements as directed per UL, CSA, and other certification bodies under the direction of lab team leader.
- Conducts the training of and/or directs personnel in related job function activities upon the request of management
- Position requires to travel within the United States to performed product testing in an outside lab.
- Testing includes temperature, short circuit, mechanical endurance, electrical endurance, and environmental
- This position reports to the Laboratory Team Lead
You will make impact with the following responsibilities:
- Designs and tests the sequence of test programs, and creates test instructions, including documenting the entire testing process.
- Digitize test processes in the facility.
- Utilize program software’s to automate test set ups.
- Ensures the effective implementation of processes relevant to the position as required by applicable quality system documentation.
- Analyzes the test sequences for potential improvements and carries out or initiate the required implementation measures.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment.
- Other assignments as directed by Team Lead.
- Test equipment maintenance/upgrades.
- Crosstrain in other areas of the Power Lab.
- Create and update test procedures as needed.
- Estimates the scope of the test, selects and defines the measuring and tests equipment or devices.
- Designs and tests the sequence of test programs, and creates test instructions, including documenting the entire testing process.
- Introduces and carries out diagnostic measures in the event of deviations and assesses the results.
- Oversees the processing of testing sequences, analyses and evaluates test results and discuss testing results with customers.
- Analyzes the test sequences for potential improvements and carries out or initiate the required implementation measures.
- Ensures and participates in the systematic further development of the quality assurance system.
- Maintains the testing documentation and testing manuals.
- Schedules, organizes and monitors the creation of test solutions.
- Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s in engineering mechanical or electrical.
- 3 plus years of experience in testing electrical products.
- Knowledgeable of National or International Standards (e.g., UL, CSA, IEC) when required by test requirements.
- Ability to use oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other PC Skills, including basic programming.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ISO 9001, 17025 documentation requirements.
- Experience with circuit breakers and wiring from residential size (15A) through industrial size (up to 6000A)
- PLC programming Simatic and LOGO and LabVIEW programming
- Experience using thermocouples
- Ability to multitask
