Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a consumer champion to join our Retail Marketing team. This is a full-time opportunity that reports to the Manager, Toyota Retail Marketing. The individual will oversee the development and deployment of a consistent, brand-aligned approach to retail communications that helps to establish Toyota as the ideal choice amongst current and future generations of customers. What You’ll be Doing:
Lead the strategy, briefing, approval, deployment and sustainment of brand aligned retail campaigns to grow and sustain Toyota purchase intent amongst automotive intenders.
As the main TCI point of contact for Toyota’s Tier 2 agency, lead discussions and follow ups for briefings, strategy/insights, creative development, media and digital communications, measurement/optimization and follow up. Encourage and enable collaboration and coordination with Tier 1 agency.
Proactively work with Zone offices, Marketing Sub Committee and Toyota Dealer Associations (TDAs, via General Manager) to maximize retail marketing effectiveness and encourage the co-ordinated implementation of brand aligned tactical marketing programs (national advertising and TDA integration).
Design and lead quarterly Marketing Sub Committee meetings and Annual Planning process, driving dealer engagement and coordinating departmental updates ((i.e. sales, inventory, marketing, digital business innovations ) in order to inspire, inform and enable TDAs and Tier 2 retail agency to develop a coordinated and brand aligned go-to-market approach that meets retail objectives and priorities. Includes presenting, interacting and influencing with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with Brand, Nameplate, Digital, Retail and Parts & Service marketing to ensure aligned and complimentary approaches to marketing across all tiers.
Lead the strategic development and execution of marketing communications and tactics to drive awareness and selling of fleet vehicles.
Partner with other departments/stakeholders (i.e. legal, incentives, TCCI, research, digital properties, etc) to create relevant, compliant and impactful communications in market to achieve continued growth.
Provide mentorship, guidance and coaching to Retail Marketing Coordinator.
Act as the marketing point of contact and initiation of key retail enhancements and business innovations that impact approach to consumer communications/engagement
Seek opportunities to take retail communications to the next level, challenge the norm and align the approach
What You’ll Bring:
University degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
5+ years of experience in dealer-facing (i.e. field, operations) and/or marketing role
Excellent written & oral communication skills – Ability to influence with a sense of authority and confidence, make a strong impact and build commitment to approach;
Ability to use strategic thinking to identify opportunities and navigate challenges in the retail environment
Ability to tailor concepts and communicate to various audiences accordingly
Strong presentation skills; ability to simplify complex and technical information, and understand the audience to deliver a tailored presentation
Detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently
Self-motivator and leader; Ability to start and complete tasks with limited supervision
Capable of thriving in a fast paced environment with internal & external stakeholders
Total Team Collaboration – Work well with all key stakeholders to drive a TDA/TCI-focused approach to tactical communications across Canada
Capable of managing confidential information & building strong, positive relationships
Process Oriented – Ability to work within agreed timelines & process in order to develop the highest quality assets in line with Toyota Branding approach
Digital capability and experience is an asset
Bilingualism an asset (French/English)
