  • Support the administration of the Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCETP) at the United States Element (USELM) to the Inter-American Defense College (IADC), located at Washington, DC.
  • Plan and execute the life-cycle support of all International Military students and their dependents.
  • Establish and maintain automated database of student training records and to schedule students for various courses of instructions.
  • Review invitational travel orders (ITOs) for all students ensuring they are complete, and that personal and academic requirements and prerequisites have been met prior to entering training.
  • Ensure academic certificates and awards are available for presentation at recognition ceremonies.
  • Oversee and coordinate travel arrangements, airport transportation, in-/out-processing of students, and lodging arrangements for students.
  • Develop supply, travel, and training budgetary requirements and track expenditures accordingly.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Incumbent must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • This is an intermittent position. Incumbent will only work 240 hours per fiscal year. Incumbent must agree to work on an intermittent/as needed basis.
  • Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 12 months. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Additional information about transcripts is .Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: (1) facilitating an education/training program to provide administrative, logistics, and information support to students; (2) verifying students personal and academic requirements are met prior to entering training; (3) reviewing documents, such as, travel orders and living allowance authorizations for correctness and, (3) maintaining an automated database of student training records to ensure proper documentation.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).OREducation: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as Business Administration.
