Does the idea of communicating with various business units to identify training needs and assisting with mapping out development plans within the LMS teams and individuals sound good to you? What will you be doing!

  • Coordinating of training activities
  • As an individual contributor, and under direct supervision, executing professional work focused on achieving immediate to short-term results including:
  • the company-wide scheduling of courses which are part of the corporate catalogue,
  • external and specialized training courses and programs, and
  • CNL facility-specific training
  • Interacting within a team and/or with internal clients to action training registrations/cancellations, responding to written and verbal training enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Has limited external interactions to support the procurement of vendor training.
  • Working with the Training Consultants to help design or modify programs and curriculum to ensure department goals are met. To do this the Training Coordinator continuously manages the training program matrices in a fashion which keeps the programs on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Working with the Training Consultants to ensure examinations are managed in such a way as to be current and allow for fair assessment of individual department members. In addition, examination results shall be managed such that the effectiveness of the training program can be evaluated
  • Data entry into and retrieval from CNL’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Electronic Records Data Management System (ERDMS).
  • Maintaining records of course completion and learner attendance in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Proper filing of hard copy records and uploading records to CNLs Electronic Documents and Records Management System (ATOM).
  • Coordinating, monitoring and reporting on training activities to assure individual/facility/program compliance to training plan curriculum requirements and licence conditions.
  • Developing training reports and documents for all department personnel, as required.
  • Assisting the Training Consultants to document all training deliverables and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a human resources, administrative, or business-related field.
  • 5-7 years related experience preferably working in a training environment would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge base of online and virtual curricular platforms for both students and adults.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current adult learning theories, principles, program design strategies, technologies, trends and best practices applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
  • Familiarity with various learning delivery models, including online, blended, and classroom; knowledge of the theories and practices of e-learning and the implementation of synchronous learning environments.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems; familiarity with virtual classroom and with multimedia and web design technologies.
  • Experience in using (ITSM) IT Service Management software applications is considered an asset.
  • Accountable with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and respond in a timely manner to changing demands and scheduling requirements in the office as well as from a remote work setting as required.
  • Strong project management skills (planning, coordinating, organizing, leading, directing, facilitating).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Skills in a customer service are essential. Incumbent must possess a ‘customer first’ attitude and be committed to ensuring the needs of all customers are met at a high professional standards. Delivering services to customers promptly, with courtesy and providing extra effort and follow-up are critical to the department’s business.
  • Ability to assist with analyzing training needs, design of learning objectives and course materials.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to communicate with broad range of audiences, one-on-one and in a group setting/classroom setting.
  • Innovative and resourceful with the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability of working under pressure in an unstructured environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Skilled in coordinating and facilitating activities though online collaboration and training platforms
  • Proficient in using MS Office suite programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Explorer, and Access).
  • Strong attention to detail, including self-checking and verification steps, is essential to mitigate any potential data errors in the LMS or when providing customers with reports.
  • Knowledge of CNLs Procurement Process to procure external training services.
  • Knowledge of CNL’s policies and procedures as they relate to training, including procurement document control, protection of information, Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), etc.

Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.

Location:

CNL works with employees across our Canadian locations to enable a hybrid workforce where possible. Our Hybrid employees work with their manager to establish expectations for when they will be on site vs when they are working from home.
