Position Overview:

The Transfer Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation at UMBC will provide excellent service to prospective transfer students and their families as they look at transitioning into UMBC. This position is responsible for a recruitment territory with growth opportunities and has flexibility in finding new and innovative ways to recruit stellar future Retrievers.

Responsibilities:

The Transfer Coordinator serves as a staff member within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation that focuses on the recruitment and yield of the transfer student population. As the university seeks growth in this area, this position will support the recruitment of over 5,000 prospective transfer students in which the university will enroll nearly 1,200 students annually.

The Transfer Coordinator manages, in conjunction with the Associate Director, the Transfer Student Alliance (TSA) program and develops engagement opportunities for prospective members and current members of TSA, which includes all community colleges in Maryland.

In addition, the Transfer Coordinator manages a recruitment territory, assists in planning and executing transfer specific events and programs on and off campus, conducts presentations and information sessions, attends college fairs, reviews applications rendering appropriate admission decisions, applies university policies and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • One year of experience related to admissions and/or transfer support
