Year 7 Transition Teacher (SEMH School)Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for helping students navigate the challenging transition from primary to secondary education? Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Year 7 Transition Teacher to support pupils at a nurturing SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Basingstoke.About the Role:
As a Year 7 Transition Teacher, you will work with small groups of pupils who are struggling to adjust to secondary school. Your role will focus on providing tailored support, helping students build confidence, develop key academic skills, and settle into their new learning environment. You will work closely with other staff to address individual barriers to learning and ensure every child is supported both academically and emotionally.The school delivers the National Curriculum alongside essential life skills, creating a well-rounded education for secondary-age pupils with SEMH needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide small group support to Year 7 pupils, ensuring a smooth and positive transition to secondary school.Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of the group, addressing academic and social-emotional challenges.Build strong relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence and independence.Collaborate with teaching staff, support teams, and parents to provide a holistic approach to each child’s education.Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported and motivated to succeed.Requirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential (Primary or Secondary experience accepted).Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH or SEND is advantageous.Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire pupils.A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.The Role and Progression:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
