Department Overview
The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank’s Canadian and US P&C: non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position.

The Balance Sheet Reporting and Analytics (BSRA) team is a centralized function in the TBSM responsible for completing all reporting and analytics relating to Non-Trading Market Risk (NTMR) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP). The NTMR reporting covers the interest rate, foreign exchange, and equity risks of the bank. The team’s mandate includes:
- Producing timely and accurate risk reporting focused on understanding current market risk exposure and risk limits.
- Performing analytics to deepen our understanding on market risk and provide valuable insight & recommendations for management decisions.
- Effectively communicating our results and insights to stakeholders.
- Building a best-in-class risk reporting infrastructure and governance processes.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree
- MBA, CFA, FRM considered assets
Familiarity with:
- Principles of asset/liability management, capital markets, and how Treasury delivers value
- Understanding of how balance sheet items evolve over time and react to changes in market conditions.
- Understanding of Transfer Pricing methodologies and theory is a definite asset.
- Basic principles of financial accounting for the Banking industry
- Market Risk concepts and their application to banking products
Experience with:
- Coordinating cross functional teams to deliver key initiatives
- Timely and efficient delivery of reporting and analytical packages under strict timelines to different stakeholders.
- Communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Simplifying complex concepts and business results in terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds & seniority levels
- Working with large data sets for the purpose reporting, analytics and investigations. Experience with SQL, Tableau and other data analytics languages would be considered an asset.

Job Details
The Treasury Manager will act as the Economic Value Equity (EVE) and Net Interest Income Sensitivity (NIIS) SME in supporting the Balance Sheet Reporting & Analytics (MRMA) business owner and support the implementation of related changes in various projects. The Manager will work extensively with other TBSM functions, project, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities of this position include:
- Support the BRR /CDOR Business Lead in: Participating in BRR / CDOR Initiative cross-segment and cross-functional working groups and advise and support the BRR/ CDOR Business Lead in developing strategies and principles to address and mitigate identified franchise risk.
- Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of initiative for the business
- Build consensus and relationships with initiative team and business
- Deliver and own initiative outcomes that are aligned to established cost, timing, deliverable and scope objectives
- Assist/contribute to other project and initiatives across the wider Balance Sheet Measurement and Analytics teams. This may include but is not limited to
- Analysis around Margin Differential
- Assist in reconciliation of business results across different functional areas
- Deep Dive analysis around financial performance and risk management results
- Contribute to improving compliance and controls processes
