We wish to appoint new Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+) colleague to join our expanding Acute Medicine service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).PLEASE NOTE THIS ADVERT MAY CLOSE EARLY IF WE HAVE SUFFICIENT APPLICANTSMain duties of the jobThe post is based on our Acute Medical Units and offers excellent experience in all aspects of acute medicine including Same Day Emergency Care. - Full General Medical Council registration.
- MRCP (or equivalent)
- ALS or Equivalent
Desirable
- Higher degree
- Teaching qualification Management/Leadership qualification
- Point of care ultrasound
- Peer reviewed publications
ExperienceEssential
- Proven procedural competence in line with IMT3 curriculum
- Experience in independently managing medical admissions – i.e. running the acute unselected take
- Ability to work closely with colleagues in Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine and other specialities
- Experience of MDT working including complex discharge planning
Desirable
- Independent in the following procedures: Lumbar Puncture, Seldinger Chest Drains and Ascitic Drains.
- Experience of working in Same Day Emergency Care
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Essential Management & Administrative skills:Essential
- Familiar with clinical governance
- A willingness to accept responsibility and provide leadership.
Desirable
- Experience of clinical governance. Eg, Quality improvement, Audit, Morbidity and Mortality review.
- Experience of service development
- Awareness of current relevant developments within the wider NHS
